geneticist and biochemist—shoot down every argument you’ve ever heard from the pro-GMO interests: No, they don’t increase yields. No, they don’t decrease pesticide use. Some even lead to an increase! And helping poor farmers? No. GMOs are expensive and have to be bought every year. So they actually help trap farmers. And the health effects? Studies on humans have never been done. But just read these scary lines about what’s happened in animal studies using GMOs: “Mice fed GM soy over their lifetime (24 months) showed more acute signs of ageing in the liver than the control group fed non-GM soy”. And this is but one study of many. So check it out and next time someone says GMOs are harmless, tell them that many scientists and their helpless subjects disagree.
