Wisdom Council

Heiner Benking. A former engineer and state planner, consultant for UNDP and UNEP in the mid 70ies/late eighties. Heiner early found himself among leading movers for sustainable development, and has since been surfing the tidal waves of virtually every discipline. His prime concerns are integrated, life-long learning, new education curricula, and new forms of participation, deliberation, dialog and peace-making, capacity building and trans-cultural ways of sharing, understanding and finding what matters in an ever more chaotic multi-media information porridge.
He is founder of the Open-Forum.de and media-office for harvesting and boosting positive-news that he calls “Seeds of Change”. Heiner has been with us ever since we started in 2004. Since he is looking at the “very big and deep picture” of a paradigm shift to a sustainable civilisation and co-existent common cultures with “unity in diversity”, we could also call him a mental architect working on 9-dimensional embodied models. Scholars, fasten seat belts and prepare for a lifelong ride in the Benking Universe. If he was a Marvel Hero, he would be the In-betweener. Web www.benking.de, Blog www.quergeist.info
Helmut Burkhardt. Founding President of the Council on Global Issues, a driver of Evolution of World Order Conferences (‘order’ in terms of holistic balance, not fragmented chaos or control) and Science for Peace, Helmut is a wise consultant on everything large scale and (too) big numbers (for most of us to grasp). His paper on Physical Limits to large Scale Global Biomass Generation for replacing Fossil Fuels is one of many clear and concise deconstructions of faked and hyped “solutions”. Including those numbers no one dares even mention – like population!
Andrea Mendez-Brandam is an entrepreneur with 20+ year background in independent journalism with a vast experience in news papers, magazines, and radio. She focuses in sustainability, Social Corporate Responsibility, NGO, change makers and clean technologies. She is a team leader, researcher and entrepreneur with a solid management experience using web 2.0 and open source tools as a her main platform.

In 2003 and in association with Positive News in UK, she created the first Noticias Positivas Media in Latin America, which developed in an award winning site, a radio show which she hosted, reaching 3 million listeners weekly through 120 partner community radios using free download of her ready-to-air 55min radio show, a 350.000 issue edition of a news paper supplement, organization of several schools educational meetings about sustainability and “Sacred Seeds”, a biodiversity documentary which she directed and produced and won the main prize in the  First Latinamerican Slow Food Film Festival.

Early X generation, Andrea is the mother of four millenials (which are her main source of joy and continuous update). She has law and journalism studies and during 2010 she was recongnized in Argentina with two Gota en el Mar awards for Social Journalism. She enjoys swimming and training as much as reading and sharing knowledge and experiences with people in different cultures.

Tubulls Chaliha. A Savage’ grown up in forests, kickstarter of the 60s movement, intertribal diplomat, explorer, cross-displinary scholar, father and grandfather,… Tubulls has lived many lives – with abrupt Siddartha-like shifts from his own private jet to back to a split front window VW van and street music. A master of both circular and the linear world, he has mentored students travelling at his side for fourty years, giving them a window seat view on Spaceship Earth, high above, with clear views on the masterplan of the Labyrinth of Un-sustainability… and the Alternative!

Copthorne Mac Donald is a veteran forethinker in holism and – wisdom! A long-time host of Wisdom Radio Show and publisher of several groundbreaking books, Cop is the right person for making the very huge, invisible and intangible things visible, tangible, comprehensible. His works are available for free download! And that’s where your next click should lead you: Matters of Consequence.
